Common questions

For those who haven't considered either joining a club centre, or venturing out on a 'rally' at all, take a browse through these common questions, and hopefully your queries will be answered.

• How do we join a club centre?

Providing you're a member of The Caravan & Motorhome Club, you can join our centre at any time and there are several options to do so.
1. You can complete the centre registration form in the main club joining pack, then return it direct to the club for processing.
2. Call Membership Services on 01342 318813 and request they assign you to the centre.
3. You can join online. Follow the What is a centre link, register or sign in to your existing C&MC account and complete the process online.
You must renew centre registration each year; unlike your annual club membership, centre registration does not roll over automatically. Remember too that while you can only register with one centre at a time, you can attend rally events with any club centre.

• Is there an additional fee for joining a centre?

There is no additional fee for registering with a club centre.

• What is a rally, what's involved?

Put simply, a rally is a short term caravanning event where a group of like minded folk meet up, usually for a weekend. Some rallies offer activities, and these can be dependent on the location, or simply an evening social gathering. Of course, you can just attend the rally for a short break and not get involved with any activity at all; you can do your own thing or join in for as much as you like.
Periodically, we host holiday rallies, there are some special event's too, for example our Christmas Party, all of which are all detailed in our rally programme and are available to all Caravan & Motorhome Club members, whether registered with the WorcsCentre or not.

There's a mix of locations available, from basic farm land to the grounds of stately homes. Have a look through our current schedule of events to find a rally that suits you.

• How do I book onto a rally or club event?

You can book easily by either email to bookings@worcestershirecentre.co.uk, or contact the appointed Rally Officers for the event you wish to book for. Contact details are included on each specific rally page.
Remember, rallying isn't unique to caravanners; if you own a motorhome, then you're more than welcome to join us too, but let us know when you book, so we can be sure to reserve a suitable area for you, or if we need to advise of any access restrictions to a site.

How do I pay?

We prefer BACS payments wherever possible. Please quote your surname and rally as reference, eg "Smith-Hanbury", and note that payments must be for individual rallies only, ie three rallies will require three separate payments. If necessary, payments can be made over the counter at any Lloyds Bank, use the same reference format on the payment slip.

• How do I cancel a booking?

In the unlikely case of you needing to cancel your booking, please call the Rally Officers directly. Some rallies are restricted in numbers and a cancelled pitch could be offered to another member. Unfortunately, if cancelation occurs within 48 hours of a rally starting, WorcsCentre will refund the rally fee but retain any admin fees to help with our costs.

• How do I find the rally venue and what should I do on arrival?

Each rally page includes directions to find the venue. As you approach the site, you should spot our orange WCCC signage. Please note that some rallies may be held on farmland, and while the rally details include a postcode, this shouldn't be relied upon for SatNav use. We offer What3Words locations too, and this will generally provide a more accurate point of site access than postcode.
On arrival at site, you will be welcomed by the Rally Officer team who will advise on pitching/parking and other site details.

• What time would a rally generally start and finish?

Note, that unless stated otherwise, rallies generally open from 16:00 onwards on the first day. Departure time on the last day is fairly flexible, but you will be advised of the latest time for leaving by the Rally Officers.

Do I need to have any additional or special equipment?

As a minimum, you should carry the same accessories as for any caravanning venture; Aquaroll, waste container, toilet chemicals etc. Note that with a few exceptions, most rallies are held "off-grid", so there's no electric hook-up available (EHU), as such you'll ideally need a supply of gas for any cooking, heating etc., (propane in the red bottles is best for winter use) and a charged leisure battery for powering your 12v requirements, such as water pump, lighting, etc. If you're apprehensive being "off-grid", it is generally found that most weekend caravan use will operate perfectly well with a decent, fully charged leisure battery. You could chose to carry a spare 12v battery or it's common to use portable solar panels to maintain existing batteries, too.
Be aware of the lack of washroom facilities. While this doesn't usually pose a problem, it's only fair to let you know of the likelihood on relying on your own caravan facilities during your stay.

• Please note that WCCC does not permit the use of generators, unless there is a requirement on health grounds.

• What else might I need to know?

There's not much more to rallying than to normal caravan. As mentioned above, you may need to consider your options for running without EHU, but on the whole, all caravanners should easily be able to adapt to being "off-grid" and on the rally field.
If you have any concerns but keen to know more, you are more than welcome to visit us on one of our rallies to see for yourself what's involved. We're all an approachable bunch and have a wealth of varying experience amongst us, so you can be rest assured of receiving the best and most useful help and advice. If you do plan to drop by, please call the event Rally Officers in advance, so you can be expected.
