Rally Report: Report submitted by Carolyn, Kevin & Katrina-Jade Fleet (Worcestershire Centre)

The annual WCCC Easter Rally was at Woodhouse Farm this year.  It started off on the Friday morning rather wet & muddy with a few vans needing assistance to get sited. With 29 vans booked in we were the last to arrive on Saturday mid-morning so we’d missed the fun & games of the mud on the Friday & opening flag. We arrived to beautiful sunshine (I obviously booked the weather!).  On the Saturday afternoon the Juniors went off collecting food from the caravans ready for the American Supper in the marquees that evening, which was followed by a Chinese Auction, this is how I managed to have the rally report to write!! Thanks Juniors!!!
Sunday morning arrived, HAPPY EASTER, & off hopped all the children for an Easter Egg Hunt closely followed by decorating a hard boiled egg in the marquee. Somehow I managed to get roped in to playing rounders with the juniors, but I survived, just about. On the afternoon there was an Easter bonnet parade & also a ‘Duck race with a twist’, I was useless with those fishing rods. Later in the evening we were put through our knowledge skills with a 100 questions quiz!! Maybe some easier questions next time Stu? Oh & somewhere nice & warm!
Monday morning started with flag & the prizes were given out for the various activities.  Claire announced that the Juniors had raised £116.94 that weekend, this included bonus ball, Chinese auction, duck race & donations. Well done Juniors. Myself, Katrina, Sue & Jo had a walk to pay the landowner & were fortunate to watch Mark the farmer assist a sheep to deliver twin lambs, an emotional sight as I’d only ever seen it on TV before. Later on in the afternoon myself, Kev, Katrina, Chris & Claire had a walk up to the farm & were invited into the barn where all the newborn lambs were, they were so cute I did wonder if I could sneek one away! We were there for a couple of hours chatting to Mark & his wife Sonya about the farm. Later that evening on our way back to site, after dropping Chris & Claire back home, an emergency stop was conducted to allow 4 large deer to cross the road! Another rare sight.
Unfortunately Tuesday morning arrived far too quickly so instead of packing up we decided to relax, the weather was too nice to be going home quite yet. We finally packed away & said our goodbyes to everyone who had decided to stay on as the following weekends rally at Kinlet was just around the corner. We eventually left the rally field just before 6pm.
A fantastic weekend with wonderful weather (anyone would have thought we were in a foreign country how nice it had been) & nice to catch up with friends old & new. Well done to Jo, Stu & the Junior Committee for organising a fantastic rally.  Not forgetting Chris, our sports officer, for helping with the activities.
